About Kiddies Kollege Christian Center

OUR 76-YEAR HISTORY OF CHILDCARE

 

Kiddies Kollege Christian Center is an offspring of Kiddies Kollege, Inc. which was founded in 1947 by Laura Shumate to help care for working parents in the Maryland & Washington DC area. Kiddies Kollege Christian Center in Laurel was founded 1996 by Chad Shumate the grandson of Laura. Shumate. Prior to opening this location, Chad was the managing director of his Grandmother's centers in Maryland and Washington DC. 

 

Kiddies Kollege Christian Center strives to continue its proud 74-year history in childcare, providing the community with the very best in pre-school services, highly qualified staff, a superior curriculum, and a clean and safe facility.

PHILOSOPHY

KKCC encourages and provides opportunities for our students to interact with peers, develop their knowledge, talents and understanding of the world around them based on age, skill level and ability in an appropriate classroom setting.  We provide a balance of child initiated and teacher led activities.  We respect and value the differences in each child as to his or her interests, abilities, developmental needs and personality.  We appreciate and value different cultural, family, racial and ethnic backgrounds.

 

MISSION

The mission of Kiddies Kollege Christian Center is to provide a warm, stimulating, safe, affordable, high quality pre-school program that develops the social, emotional and academic needs for children of the greater Laurel community

Kiddies Kollege Christian Center, Inc. is a non-denominational organization. All funding is derived from tuition. No church or denomination dictates, set, or funds our activities, approves our curricula, or sets our policies.
